China.
It had been on our bucket list long before the term was popularized. And long before we started thinking about things to do in our post-career years. We were fascinated with this ancient civilization. Plus, the 1974 discovery of the Terracotta soldiers excited our desire to travel to China.
The summer before my 25th and final year of teaching began (August 2012-June 2013), my hubby, the super-planner, asked if I wanted a retirement party. My answer—no. Then he said, “Well, let’s go to China.”, and it was an unforgettable two weeks in our lives.
I hope you enjoy this flashback trip through China. Share what you thought of our trip in the comment box below. And thank you.

I really enjoyed the travel flip book. In addition to highlighting present day life and ancient history, it helps to add context to places or events we hear on the news or read about, like Tiananmen Square. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed the travel to China via the flip book.
