Thy words have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalm 119:11 KJV
Dear Lord,
When I meditate on your words turning them over in my mind and heart, my obedience to them protects me from offending you with my wrongdoings.
Help me hear the love in your words and not live religiously by the letter of your law.
Show me how rich I am when I keep such treasure hidden in my heart.
And show me when to bless others with its bounty of hope, wisdom and life.
Amen
You may be wondering how a hard boiled egg is connected the Word of God. I used the above photo for an exercise with my prophetic team to evoke responses based on Biblical scriptures. The responses were varied:
- We as believers are yoked together. (Philippians 2:1-3)
- In Christ we have more than enough, a double portion. (Psalm 23:1, Exodus 16:29)
- God can provide twice as much even when we complain. (Job 42:10)
- We are fragile but solidified under extreme heat, transformed under pressure. (Job 23:10)
Psalm 119:11 came to my mind because the Word of God hidden in our hearts is so beneficial to our spirits as the egg yolk is to our natural body. May God’s words be a treasure in your heart, nourishment for your spirit and a feast for your soul.
