Another year is rolling by. On May 13th, I will have completed 70 years on this earth. Yes, I was born on a Friday, but I’ll save my comments on that for another post. With this milestone approaching, I thought about everything that has happened during the past 365 days.
Here’s my year in review.
- May 13, 2024- An eye exam to confirm cataracts and a diagnosis of Fuchs’ (fewks) Dystrophy, a slow-progressing hereditary disease of the cornea
- June – Had cataract surgery and the initial LAL (light adjustable lens) treatment.
- September 13 – My last eye treatment
- October – Attended the Florida Christian Writers Conference.
- October/November – Trip to Southeast Asia
- November – Hosted Thanksgiving dinner at my house with 20 family members. We all pitch in with the food.
- December – Just before Christmas I had emergency abdominal surgery– a testimony to the power of the prayers of family and friends, and to God who answered them
- April 2025 – My She-Cave gets a makeover.
- May – My new website goes LIVE!!!
These were the major things that occurred. Some were expected. Some came without warning. Yet, I can’t dismiss the everyday events.
- The shared dinner and relaxation time at the end of the day with my Hubby.
- Building garden beds on a Saturday morning with some of my church family for our community garden.
- Walking Andy through our neighborhood and talking with other Fur Mamas and Papas while Andy greets their babies.
- The Monday afternoon sessions with my prayer buddy.
- Watching the backyard tree buds grow into leaves to block the view behind my house.
- FaceTiming with my scattered family and Zooming with my friends near and far.
Each day was a forged link bringing me closer to May 13. I am thankful and grateful for each one.
My birthday will come and go, but I’m planning to celebrate the whole month. How do you celebrate your birthday? Quietly or with some fanfare? Share your comments. Give us something new to consider for your next birthday.
Love you!!
Kisses and hugs to you
Can you imagine, there are some people that think of their birthday as just another day?!?!? Just think, God created you on that day!!!! It should be celebrated to give God Glory! Make memories to talk about with each year more spectacular than the other years! Growing up we didn’t have much but trust and believe my mom made our birthdays special with color scheme decorations, home made cake, candles, ice cream, jello and treats all the same color! We had so much fun!!!🤩🎉🎊
Thank you for sharing your birthday celebration memories.
Happy Birthday, Jacki! God rejoiced the day you were born (and since He planned you before you were born). One of my favorite verses is Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
I’m so thankful to know you and wish you the happiest of birthdays!
Prayers for you.
Thank you, Joni for the birthday blessings and sharing Psalm 139:16
