Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!
Genesis 1:31 New Living Translation
When I discovered two full boxes of old business cards, a stupendous idea popped into my head. I could use them to write a daily mini To Do list with no more than five items. When all the tasks are crossed off, my mission for the day would be accomplished.
In Genesis 1, God shows us how to achieve the mission for today. Each day he had a specific goals to tackle. When they were completed, God was pleased with his finished product.
Set small goals for your day. Write them, complete them, and cross them off your list. Look at all you have accomplished, and call your day good.

One of the first things I do to accomplish my goals for the day is to first greet the Lord, thank Him for the peaceful rest and protection during the night, and tell Him how much I love Him as soon as I awake. Before I start my morning devotional time with Him, I pray this prayer out loud, “Father God, in Yeshua’s Name, whatever is written in my book for this day, I pray it comes to pass. I want nothing more or nothing less. Let no demonic power or human deed stop me from fulfilling my purpose for this day. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.” I then read aloud the prayer over decrees and declarations by Brenda Kunneman. These prayers set the atmosphere for morning Scripture and The Word For You Today devotional readings which are read aloud, followed by additional prayer time and at least one worship song or worship instrumental music. I find that starting my day with the Father first sets the tone for my entire day. I usually list my goals for the day and cross them off as I complete them.
Laverne, thank you for sharing how you accomplish your goals for the day.Greeting the Lord and having time with him is so automatic for me that I forgot to include it. Thank you for the reminder! I like your confession for the day and your declarations! It does set the tone for the day.
