Be free from pride-filled opinions…Don’t allow self-promotion hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first as more important than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3 TPT)
Like an echocardiogram for the spiritual heart, Paul wants the Philippians to check for prideful opinions and self-promoting in theirs.
With these two things in mind, it’s time for my heart check-up. First, my selfish opinions have no value because the Word of God is going to have the final say on everything. Secondly, my gifts and talents will make room for me when I do the hard work to keep my heart in right-standing with God. He will promote me when he decides I’m ready.
A yearly examination is good for my physical heart, but my spiritual heart needs a daily check-up. When I take the time to change my focus from what I want to what God needs me to do his way, then serving others will trump serving myself.

This speaks to my prayer time last night. I want to have a pure and clean heart to be able to share God’s Love, His Truth His Word, and follow His leading as the Holy Spirit teaches and guides me.
Thank you so much for your comment, Jane. This is a daily work.
