My husband made the above signs for my garden back in June.

July 15th was our 47th wedding anniversary day.

According to Hallmark, the gift for the 47th is something associated with gardens or plants. He didn’t know about Hallmark’s list, and I don’t think he had this in mind as an anniversary gift, but I’m calling it one.

Hubby should be nicknamed “The Beave” because he always has a project going like a beaver or thinking about one at three in the morning. With this new idea in mind, he bought wood, stains, and a wood burning kit. The back porch became a workshop with Motown tunes playing, fans blowing and the smell of burnt wood. My opinion was given when asked. Some modifications and enhancements were made, and the result is 100% his creation. I think he did a fantastic job.

Long after my garden is gone, this gift will be around and cherished.

Have you received a handcrafted gift that is very special to you? Would you share what it is and why it is dear to you? I’d like to hear about it.
