Seven Seeds to Sow for Spring
March 21, 2025

(All Scripture is from the World English Bible, American Edition)

Traditionally, January 1 is the day people decide to make changes in their lives and routines. But January sits in the heart of winter’s cold and gloom. What not wait until spring to begin the fresh start? Daylight stretches longer into the evening. Budding trees and flowers are visible everywhere. All the evidence of the season’s renewal can be an incentive to plant new spiritual seeds or revive the old ones in our lives.

Here are seven tips to help you refresh your walk with Christ.

Pray continually

Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Praise God daily

I will exalt you, My God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever. (Psalm 145:1-2)

Spread the Gospel liberally

“You will be witness to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Walk circumspectly

Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15)

Tithe cheerfully

Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)

Meditate on the Word of God regularly

But his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. (Psalm 1:2)

Watch for the enemy intently

Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:9)

Whether you work on one tip or all seven, make a promise to yourself to follow through with a plan of action. These seeds could grow into life-long habits with deeper roots of trust in the Lord.

How do you plan to renew your spirit this spring? Share your thoughts, comments or suggestions. Thank you.

The brain break from writing didn't last. August was to be my time to start a crochet project, wash my windows, putter around in my garden and I did. But my brain allowed me about two weeks of vacating, and then said, "Back to work!!!" I've been working on two...

These are excellent steps to follow for any season. An awesome tool for ministry. This is a good check list, to share and follow. They would look especially well on a book mark or a picture frame. I like how you tied the new year into preparing a plan of action with these steps. Start early and finish strong. I have been journaling some of my own experiences, talking with the Lord through writing and reading the word. I find the combination therapeutic when I write my thoughts and then ask God. The nice thing about it is that when I have something to write it’s at a pace where God is already moving, I can go as fast or as slow as I want, God is already there. Your tips are another example of the goodness of God.
