I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5 WEBUS
Before going out of town, I meant to harvest this veggie. Upon my return, an overgrown zucchini greeted me. Measured and photographed, I posted the photo in our family text thread. Ever the comedian, my hubby wrote that the zucchini “didn’t look natural, and maybe some nuclear waste spilled in the garden causing abnormal growth…like Godzilla.” I get the reference to size, but I saw a reminder.
The zucchini continued to grow because it was attached to the main plant getting the nutrients to mature. Jesus has assured us that remaining in him will produce fruit. Actively pursuing and intentionally maintaining this relationship with him increases spiritual fruit development and maturity. When we go to him in prayer, stay in community with other followers of Christ, study the Word of God and apply it to our lives especially during difficult times, we grow.
My takeaway? Stay connected to Jesus and continue to mature like a Godzilla zucchini so that my words, actions and deeds point the way to him and bless others.
Inquiring minds would like to know what you would do with a Godzilla zucchini?
By the way, share a shout out for your favorite veggie.

My fave veggie? Corn in most any form. 🙂
I like corn too, but on the cob. Thanks for your veggie shout-out
Hi there! My favorite veggie is probably green beans and corn on the cob. The Godzilla zucchini, in our house will live a short life mixed with a medley of other friendly veggies! BP is the BEST cook! He has mad skillsssss with the use of spices. 🥰
Corn on the cob is my favorite too. Maybe home-grown zucchini and corn from the cob medley next year.
Jacki!
Your story on the Godzilla zucchini was fun and inspiring!! God can teach us things in some of the most unique ways! Abiding in the vine (God) is one of my favorite references in the Bible, truly apart from Him we can do nothing! Maintaining our connection to the vine keeps us alive and thriving and I’m so grateful!!!! 💕🩷
I’m glad you enjoyed my lesson via Godzilla Zucchini. We can do nothing unless we stay connected to him.
