Harvest

Yep…these are all cucumbers even the yellow ones.

My Lord,

You are not a stingy God.

Your extravagance is obvious.

Cucumber grew faster than we could pick them.

Zucchini stretched overnight,

Discovered in daylight under wide leaves

before turning into baseball bats.

Long, red candlestick okra, butter and green beans, delicate and baby butternut squash.

Ripe grape and cherry tomatoes, Roma and Purple Cherokees,

Fat, red Big Boys and round, yellow Lemon Boys.

And peppers galore to make hot pepper jelly.

We shared much and still had plenty.

Thank you for this delicious, abundant harvest.

Amen.
